TGIM: Daily Dose of Humor

Welcome back to Thank God It’s Monday! I am approximately 8 hours deep into writing grad school papers and presentations today so we are going to try a short and sweet format similar to other newsletters I subscribe to and enjoy.

A quote for you to consider:

“A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It’s jolted by every pebble on the road.” -Henry Ward Beecher

A thought for you to internalize:

Having a sense of humor helps alleviate the tension we feel when our expectations do not align with reality. Being able to laugh physically allows us to breathe easier and mentally eases the tension to think more clearly.

A question for you to carry with you into the week:

When can I anticipate a time this week when I will benefit from having a sense of humor instead of getting frustrated with reality?

That’s all for this week! Let me know if this format served you well and a moment this week you practiced having a sense of humor.

This week, my podcast recommendation is from Science Vs. “Lucid Dreaming: The Bonkers World Inside Our Minds.”

Until next time,

Shannon

P.S.

  1. I am of the nature to grow old. There is no way to escape growing old.
  2. I am of the nature to have ill health. There is no way to escape having ill health.
  3. I am of the nature to die. There is no way to escape death.
  4. All that is dear to me and everyone I love are of the nature to change. There is no way to escape being separated from them.
  5. My actions are my only true belongings. I cannot escape the consequences of my actions. My actions are the ground upon which I stand.
